Artscape Land Design also designs and installs wood decks, pergolas, trellises, etc. Wood decks are another way to create outdoor rooms to increase square footage of living space outside your home. Decks allow our clients to experience the outdoors in a comfortable setting. Natural wood decks work better than patios around large specimen trees that have large intruding roots (such as Oak trees), and usually are a better transition to the outdoors on raised houses. In addition, wood decks allow for one or multiple levels and sometimes allow for better views of the landscaping. Wood decks also can significantly raise the property value of your home when properly designed and constructed.

Artscape Land Design’s deck designs are always creative and innovative, with an emphasis on functionality. Some of the decks we have designed in the past have included level changes, optional built-in seating, decorative railings and even extra storage space. The decks can be constructed of many types of wood including pine, cedar, and cypress; however, this wood must be treated to protect it from the sun, decay, and insects. After a deck is installed, we recommend that it is also protected with a coat or two of water sealer or paint.
